The mission of the HIV/AIDS Project Development and Evaluation
Unit (HAPDEU) is to decrease the incidence of HIV transmission
and to improve the quality of life of individuals affected
by HIV. We accomplish this by creating effective programs
and services that are based on proven research. With a commitment
to integrity, mutual respect, innovation, and a belief in
the possibility of change, we empower individuals to make
their own reasoned choices about their lives.

HIV Stops with Me - an HIV prevention
social campaign with the mission of motivating and empowering
people who are HIV positive to be leaders in prevention.
Friend to Friend - A multi-site
community building and education project. This program taught
ways to talk to friends about becoming and remaining sexually
safer, making erotic choices, and building community.
PowerON - A community-developed,
comprehensive web-based health and HIV prevention resource
guide for Gay and Bi men and Transgendered individuals in
King County.

does not discriminate against any gender role-- male to female
or female to male. The group is open to individuals who wish

who desire to change their gender.

Ingersoll Center is able to offer a full range of services
to gender dysphoric clients such as referrals to therapists,
support and peer counseling pertaining to issues of daily
living, changes in lifestyle, preparation for surgery, and
post-operative care. We offer support groups in a friendly,
low-stress setting where cross dressing is encouraged, but
never required. Social activities include a monthly book group.

our regularly scheduled activities include:

MPowerment is a young-people-led, young-people-driven and
young-people-focused HIV/STD prevention program.
A Core Team of interns made up of young people from the GBLT
community plans and implements all aspects of MPowerment's
projects, managed by a full-time professional director. The
Core Team meets weekly to discuss and plan for upcoming projects,
and is always looking for new interns. Through the nation's
only GBLT young people's newspaper page, outreach at queer
young people's events, and numerous events throughout the
year, MPowerment encourages knowledge of HIV, STDs and how
to prevent them, while also helping to strengthen Seattle's
young queer community.
